Family of La'Keian Woods Demands Full Transparency Following Brutal Arrest

I'm here to provide a brief update on what I currently know about the situation and the condition of Lin. Attorneys representing Le'Keian Woods and members of his legal team have visited him, and unfortunately, he is still in immense pain. He's dealing with a ruptured kidney, severe migraines, and he's in excruciating physical distress. As I mentioned before, it's vital that we practice what we preach – if we call for transparency, it must be complete transparency. Anything less only raises more questions.

In recent developments, additional body camera footage has come to light, and you've all seen it. The footage shows several blows to the head, elbows to the head, and punches to the face – it's reminiscent of a UFC ground and pound beatdown. This incident involves trained professionals allegedly using excessive force, and that's why we're here today.

We need to question the statement made by the sheriff, claiming that their conduct aligns with JSO policies and procedures. If it's true that receiving a UFC-style beatdown is consistent with these policies, then we have a significant problem on our hands.

Our purpose here is to hold everyone accountable. We've noticed a pattern where individuals are stopped on pretextual reasons; One of his Attorneys said. only to be subjected to assault and terror, tearing our community apart. We've seen this before with the same officers in multiple cases, and that's deeply troubling.

In the sheriff's interview yesterday, he mentioned his Sheriff Office Viola policy. However, it's evident that the video was cut off when La'Keian was slammed to the ground, which is a clear policy violation. When someone falls face forward from being tased, it's not just the use of force; it's considered deadly force, as experts nationwide have pointed out.

The culture here in Jacksonville Duval County goes beyond the officers on the street – it extends to the top. We don't just have a bad apple; we have a whole orchard of them. When the sheriff validates, ratifies, and confirms the actions of these officers, who are now back on the streets, it puts everyone in Duval County at risk.
